Most Significant Movie

Rendition is clearly one of the most significant movies of out time. It is significant because, even though fiction, it shows us in a way that we can't ignore some of the worst attrocities being comitted in America by Americans on behalf of all of America. While the phsyical situs of the "Rendition" may be technically outside the legal lands of the United States of America, that distinction is morally irrelevant (and probably legally irrelevant).

This practice, if not legalized and initiated during the Bush administration in the aftermath of hte 9/11 hysteria and subsequent failing invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan, involves (both in the Movie and in real life), sending suspected terrorists to foreign lands, with no due process of law, to face torture, even though this would be a violation of the Civil Rights of any American and probably a crime under any code or convention. It is certainly repugnant under all moral codes which are respected.

In this movie, with Reese Witherspoon, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Omar Metwally play the story where Metwally, a loyal and patriotic American is mistaken by a terrorist and kidnapped and sent to a foreign country where he is tortured under the direction of the CIA.

The movie would be merely entertaining if this didn't really happen. We know about Abu Ghraib.
