Worst Shows on TV/Cable - Jersey Shore and the Kardashians

I need to mention some shows which are so overrated and, despite having many viewers, makes me question the taste, education, morality and/or amount of free time of the viewers as well as the greed of the network and other entertainment executives who air such trash at all. The Kardashian shows (Keeping up with the Kardashians, Kloe and Lamar, and Kourtney and Kim Take New York) and the Jersey Shore on MTV are two of the best or worst examples of this.

I am reluctant to mention these shows at all, because, as they say, "Any press is better than no Press." But the Kardahsian shows are so bad, such a waste of time, that I wonder how anyone can possibly watch them. It is a sad indictment of E Television to air them. If they have any significance, it is how so much can be created from so little. The shameless and constant "self promotion of Kris Jenner and the Kardashian children. What an embarrassment to the legacy of the deceased ex-husband of Kris Jenner and of the Kardashian Children, Robert Kardashian, a lawyer who did make something of his life.

The Kardashians are significant in that it is amazing that their fame and income spirals [Kim was crying because she lost an earring which cost her Seventy Five ($75,000.00) Dollars at the same time the Republicans call people like her "Job Creators" and oppose tax increases that would tax her and reduce the size of her earring and jewelry collection because she is somehow a "job creator."] Now she is claiming that her 100 million dollar mansion is not habitable because of the location of the swimming pool. It is enough to turn someone into a communist and go for that good old redistribution of wealth, because never ever has anyone deserved wealth less then her. Even her body (she put the objectification of women into issue by posing nude for playboy) has become, literally, defective as her rear end breaks all records  for size, and it is the kind of weight that she will not loose when she gives birth.

As Anderson Cooper described, the reason he did not watch "Jersey Shore", he said something like, "Why would I want to watch horrible people acting horribly." Enough said, except that MTV was a cutting edge cable station which, to put it lightly, has lost its way and followed the wrong lighthouse to the land of greed.

The immoral treatment of women by, for example, Mike the Situation is not funny. It is not even that he sets a bad example for others. Any parent who lets their children watch this piece of trash television show is himself/herself already a "bad example." But to publicize and reward such cruel womanizing is abhorrent.

MTV had some good content, and Real World was a new idea with good content and addressed some important issues likes the coexistence of people with different backgrounds and views and preferences on sex and sexual orientation. It also showed people coping with other issues such as being recalled for military service, suicide of friends, alcoholism, and a host of other issues all mixed in with an appropriate dose of scandalis material to keep us entertained at the same time.

I don't go in for the family values thing on TV, but where is that group of nuts when you need them? I mean, 2 out of 3 of the Kardashian young women are having children out of wedlock. If they could get Skins banned (and that was a great show) can't someone get the Kardashians banned?

Make no mistake. I believe that whatever two consenting adults do is their own business. But to publicize, encourage, and reward such conduct is really a disgrace. It is shameful for MTV and its producers. It is a very sad comment on the viewers. That these people go home with small fortunes as a further reward for their disgraceful behaviour is horrific. Mike the Situation parked his Ferrari in a handicapped parking spot at a bank because he was in a rush.

Enough said, except that, if the people on Jersey Shore can have nicknames (and their nicknames are as stupid as everything else on the show), I want one [a nickname] also. After watching the Jersey Shore and Kardashians, please call me, "David the Disturbed, Depressed, Disgusted and Disallusioned."
